President Eisenhower took office in 1953 after Truman. Before becoming President of the United States Dwight was the commander of the forces liberating Europe. He commanded D-Day and many operations that lead to Victory in Europe. From his experience in the military many people saw how important it is to have a military leader as president, for the Cold War.

Longines Chronoscope TerrorThe Longines Chronoscope Terror took place on August 19th, 1953. Val Peterson (Federal Civil Defense Administration USA) went on to a national TV station. The Producers of the show want Val to make the H-Bommb seem less threatening. Val says, "Anyone of intelligence and information is hoping and praying that we won't have a third world war because in this age of the atomic weapon, war would be—a third world war would be a catastrophe for all mankind," showing the people watching just how dangerous the H-bomb is. Val get's cut off by the host were everyone learns that the USSR dropped their first H-bomb. Resulting in more fear about atomic bombs being dropped.

CIA and NASAFrom the beginning of the Cold War spies were a huge part of getting valuable information. During Dwight's Precedence he gave more power to the CIA where we can see the full strength of the CIA. He also realized from the Soviet's first satellite that the space race was a huge aspect of the Cold War and created NASA.

HighwaysDuring Dwight's Precedence he created the highway system that can be seen in the United States today. The reasons why it was created was to protect the people of the United States. By allowing for the military to travel faster across the country and to allow emergency landings for planes.
