The 1960's was seen as a turing point in American society. The start of the Civil Rights Movement pushed many people into having equality for every United States citizen. Also during this time Martian Luther King Jr. was one of the most influential spokes man, that used the ways of Gandhi to spread the dream of equality. When John F. Kennedy was elected president he realized the importance of having the equality in the United States to set an example to the rest of the world. The 60's was also a time of war, where the United States helped out the Vietnamese get rid of communism. |
